Ingredients
- Green Moon Dal - ½ cup
- Green Chillies - 2
- Red Chillies - 3 nos
- Salt - to taste
- Onion - 2 (1 big and 1 small)
- Garlic - 5 cloves
- Tomato - 2 small
- Turmeric (Haldi) - 1 tbs
- Coriander powder - ½ tbs
- Water - ½ ltr
- Tamarind - big Marble size
- Oil - 4 tbs
For Seasoning
- Mustard - ½ tea spoon
- Urad Dal - ½ tea spoon
- Cumin Seeds - ½ tea spoon
- Curry leaves (Karivepaku) - 5-6 leaves
- Coriander - 1 tbs chopped
- Red Chillies - 1 no
Instructions
- Take a pressure cooker, put oil (3 Tbs), put Green Moong Dal and fry them for 5 mins. Now add 1 Big Onions (cut into Big pieces), Garlic, Red Chillies, Green Chillies and fry them till the oninons turn into golden brown color.
- Add Tomatoes ( Cut into Big Pieces) and fry them till the tomatoes softened. Add Tamarind, Salt and water. Stir them and Pressure it for 5 to 6 whistles.
- Once the pressure comes down, Mash them roughly.
- Keep a Tawa or a Bowl on stove and put oil (1 Tbs), put Mustard, Urad Dal, Cumin Seeds. During the splatter sound of Mustard, put 1 small onion (chopped into small pieces) and curry leaves and pour the curry into it.
- Let the curry come to boiling point, put coriander leaves.
- Your curry is ready.
Notes
- Don’t mash the Dal finely. Let it be Rough mash.
